So saddened to learn of Jeannie's passing. I remember first meeting her when she worked in a restaurant in Antigonish (before she married Frankie). She thought Ma was his aunt and gave us first-class service. haha She and Lou were visiting us in Sydney the day of Dougie's accident; she became the "strong one" that day. Frankie would invite us to his house late at night; as soon as we got there, he would go to bed and poor Jeannie would be stuck with us (the Perry night owls). She'd laugh and then make us a delicious lunch....nothing seemed to bother her. Nanny used to love when she'd take Michael down; set him on the floor and he'd be content banging on a pot with a wooden spoon. My deepest sympathy to Marilou, Dougie, Michael, Janet and the rest of the Gratto family (I never saw sisters who were so close) and extended families. She will be greatly missed. I told Janet that she probably found the biggest bingo game in heaven the minute she got there.

So sorry to read of Jeannie’s passing. I first met her when Frank and my husband were posted to RCAF Station Lac St. denis. We lived across the street from one another in the village of St. Adolph d’howard, PQ. We used to do grocery shopping together and she drove with me to bowling on the base. I have many memories of those days in PQ…….one was of her cooking 5 pounds of potatoes every night for Frank! Jean was such a happy go lucky person. Nothing seemed to phase her. I met she and Frank a few times after I moved back to New Glasgow and now have moved to Ontario to be with family. RIP Jeannie.
