Obituary of Andrew Bernard Gorman

Andrew Bernard Gorman, 74, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Dartmouth and New Glasgow, died peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, New Glasgow, with his sisters by his side.  

Born in New Glasgow on November 24,1949, he was the son of the late Andrew Joseph Gerrard Gorman and Sheila Patricia (MacGillivary) Gorman. Through no fault of his own, Andrew suffered great adversity throughout his life, which he accepted with dignity and resilience. His family adore him and take solace in knowing that Andrew knew how deeply he was loved.

Surviving are his sisters, Suellen Tremblay, Brenda Gorman (Kenneth) Wright, Marcia McGaw, Patricia Gorman, and Mary Gorman (Percy Hayne); several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins.

Besides his parents, Andrew was predeceased by brothers-in-law, Doug MacLeod, Ray Tremblay, and Jack McGaw.

Andrew’s family wish to thank the Aberdeen Hospital Emergency and Palliative Care Units for the excellent care he received.

In keeping with Andrew’s wishes his life will be celebrated privately.

Donations may be made in memory of Andrew to the Aberdeen Health Foundation Palliative Care Unit or the Valley View Villa Recreation Department.
