I send my deepest condolences to the Leblanc Family and to say I am very sorry as to this great loss to all of you that has come to pass far too soon.
I can only speak as to being a good friend to Darrell and how terrible I feel as to losing such a very special friend.
So for me to understand the tremendous loss to all of you is just impossible.
For me Darrell was that friend who is very rare in the times we live in today. Darrell was a friend who you always knew where you stood with him and you also knew where Darrell stood with you. Darrell was that one who was always at your side both in the thick and thin. There was nothing fair-weather about Darrell. You could one hundred percent always count on Darrell to have your back. Darrell was dependable and Darrell was fair and Darrell would never refuse to lend you a hand. Darrell was always a giver of his time, his skills (which Darrell had a countless number of) and most of all Darrell was a giver of kindness. Darrell was all of these things to me and so much more.
I think you likely all remember a TV show many years ago, called The Bob Newhart Show. If you recall there were the fun characters Larry, Darrell and Darrell. With Larry always saying that line...this is my brother Darrell and my other brother Darrell.
Thinking to that show it makes me want say this. I think that all of us through our own experiences and associations with our special friend Darrell, that all of us would really wish to say anytime that we needed to introduce ourselves when together, (you can fill in your own name).
“Hi, I’m Bob and this is my other Brother Darrell ”.
Everyone should have another Brother like our Darrell.
The ride was much too short my good friend and if I had a Brother, I would have wanted him to be just like you.
Darrell I know you got the call for a bigger more important job as I saw a Star go out tonight. But after a little time it came back on. So I figure you just got tied up in that big “J Store” up there finding a new part.
Just don’t forget to take some time, to play a tune and to wet a line.
