Obituary of Donna Lynn Holbrook
Donna Lynn Holbrook, 52, Truro, entered into the presence of her Lord, Sunday, October 20, 2024.
Born in New Glasgow she was a daughter of Steve Lawrence and Louise (Rutledge) Landru. Donna was a CCA and enjoyed looking after the elderly. She was employed with Earth Angels at her passing, having previously worked at Valley View Villa, Riverton. When needed, Donna worked with her brother-in-law, Spyro at Alice’s Pizza for many years. Donna loved children, especially her grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She worshiped her Lord with her family and friends at Upper Room Fellowship Church, Truro. Donna loved her fur babies, too many to name. She was a kind, caring person who radiated kindness and warmth to those around her. On February 18, 2020, Donna’s husband, Michael, went to be with the Lord. Every day since she has longed to see him again. Her family, although saddened by her passing, are comforted by her faith in Jesus Christ and his promise of eternal life. They believe she and Michael are now reunited in their forever home.
Surviving are her mother, Louise (Gerald) Landru, Plymouth; father, Steve (Debby) Lawrence, Stellarton; daughter, Michaela (Patrick) Cox, Truro; son, Steven M. D. (Jessie) Lawrence, Truro; grandchildren, Hudson Cox; Aiyana, Adriel and Reese Lawrence; maternal grandmother, Margaret Rutledge, New Glasgow; sister, Anne (Spyro) Xiros, Stellarton; step-brother, Bryan Landru, Riverton; niece, Paige Landru; nephew, Christopher (Bailey) Xiros; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family in Maine.
She was predeceased by her husband, Michael Holbrook; paternal grandmother, Kathleen Lawrence; maternal grandfather, Lawrence “Laurie” Rutledge; paternal grandfather, Whitman Lawrence; mother-in-law, Tiny Holbrook; several aunts and uncles.
The family will receive visitors 1-1:50 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Terry Dryden officiating.
Donations may be made in Donna’s memory to the IWK Foundation, Pictou County SPCA or if possible, please give a blood donation to the Canadian Blood Services.
