Obituary of June Elizabeth (Greencorn) Williamson
June Elizabeth (Greencorn) Williamson, 91, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 31, 2024, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Walter and Genesta M. (Pelrine) Pellerine. Widowed at the age of 26, June worked hard to support and raise her young family. In early years, June cleaned houses and provided childcare. Her children remember her getting up early in the mornings, especially in the winter, to walk to work. June will be remembered for her time spent working at the Aberdeen Mall Take-A-Brake and Jame’s Diner. Above all, June will be remembered as a loving mother who gave her all to her children. She leaves a rich legacy of hard work, resilience, and faith. For June, “Life has changed; not ended!”
Surviving are her daughter, Debbie Greencorn, Trenton; sons, John (Jean) Greencorn, Trenton; Charles “Chook” (Karen) Greencorn, Trenton; Gary (Cathy) McDonald, Halifax; Stephen (Celine) Hayes, Kentville; step-daughter, Dorothy (Craig) Nelson, Vancouver, B.C.; sisters, Bernadette (Jack) Osburne, Halifax; Sophia (Kevin) Dean, Vancouver; grandchildren, Joel, Gordie, Shantel, Courtney, Tammy, Jenny and Anthony; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Charles “Charlie” L. Greencorn; second husband, Thomas “Tom” R. Williamson; a grandson in infancy; sister, Dorothy “Dorey” Farrell; stepdaughters, Joan White and Betty Cox; stepsons, Kenny, and Timmy Williamson.
