Obituary of Tammy Lee Borden-Fraser
Tammy Lee Borden-Fraser, 60, New Glasgow, was called “home” on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Lester Rayfield and Katherine Ann (Dorrington) Borden. Tammy was proud to have lived her life in the south end of New Glasgow and was proud to be part of New Glasgow’s African Nova Scotian community. She spent her life in service of children, having been employed in youth centers and youth homes. Tammy was a foster mother to many children over the years and had a special relationship with her nieces and nephews. In the last few years, she enjoyed hanging out with her “little buddy”, Olivia. Tammy’s greatest joy was watching her grandchildren grow into independent, resilient, adults of whom she was most proud.
Surviving are her husband, Paul; daughter, Tamika Borden, New Glasgow; granddaughter, Tami Lee-Ann Borden, New Glasgow; honorary daughter, Joy McKeigan, Halifax; grandsons, Brennen McKeigan, New Glasgow; Jachai McKeigan, Halifax; Damek McKeigan (Jenna Dugie), Halifax; sisters, Darlene Graham, Dartmouth; Vickie (Tom) Borden-Johnson, Middle Sackville; Kim (Kirk) Hurford, Abercrombie; Nova (Morris) Borden-Hill, Courtenay, B.C.; brothers, Joe (Claire) Borden, Summerside, P.E.I.; Ron Borden, Halifax; Russell (Nancy) Borden, New Glasgow; Neville Borden, New Glasgow; Bruce Borden, Dartmouth; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
