Obituary of Bonnie Shirley Butts

Bonnie Shirley Butts, 61, New Glasgow, formerly of Abercrombie, passed away peacefully at home, Thursday, February 8, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Wayne Robert and Vera Maude (Stuart) Butts.  Bonnie was employed with Highland Community Residential Services as a Resident Counselor since 2008.  She thoroughly enjoyed her job and loved her “work” family.  Bonnie was an amazing mother, who lived her life selflessly caring for her boys. She is best described as having a “sweet soul”, beautiful “smiling eyes” and possessing a “heart of gold”.  Bonnie will be dearly missed by those she loved.

Surviving are her sons, Joshua Butts, New Glasgow and his daughters, Jada, Meleena and Hayley; Justin  Butts, New Glasgow;  Joseph  Butts, New Glasgow; sisters, Belinda Butts, New Glasgow; Wanda (John) MacLean, Stellarton; Wendy (Mark) Crawford, Westville; Becky Butts (Jason Sample), Westville; brother, Jason Butts (Lindsey Bellefontaine), Hubbards; many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors 2-4 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2024, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow.  Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be made in memory of Bonnie towards the care of her special need sons.
