It is with great sadness that I just read of Mabel's passing but also with great joy when I remember growing up next to the most amazing Pitts family. Your memories of Mabel remind me of her Mother and father and the wonderful times we had in those early years.Mabel and my sister Alice were such good friends who would tell us the most amazing stories even convincing us that the snakes in the old mine shaft up the street had legs and would chase us if we went into the shaft ( which as you can imagine we never did after that story) There was always an unending supply of fresh baked biscuits, flowers and grapes from the family and we counted ourselves as blessed to grow up next to such amazing people.
