Obituary of Joan Elizabeth Joyce

Joan Elizabeth Joyce, 61, New Glasgow, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 30, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow surrounded by her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Agnes Mabel (MacFarlane) Campbell, Stellarton and the late Charles Fraser “Gucca” Campbell, New Glasgow. Joan battled ill health for years and through it all provided a safe and loving home for her children and grandchildren. She was generous “to a fault” and shared what she had with others. Her cat, Sookie, was her “main man” and constant companion for many years. Joan was an honest person who possessed a wonderful sense of humour. She often commented how blessed she was to have a few true friends. Her family are comforted to know that Joan is now “at home and at peace” with her firstborn, Nikki.

Surviving besides her mother, Agnes, are her partner, Doug MacKeen, New Glasgow; daughter, Stephanie (Tyler), New Glasgow; grandchildren, Madison, Savannah, Jaden, Mason and Jory; sisters, Judy (John), Union Centre; Anne (Wayne), Springville; Edna (Leonard), Woodburn and April (Andre), Springville; many cousins.

Besides her father, Fraser, she was predeceased by her daughter, Agnes Nicole Campbell.

A private celebration of life will be held.
