It is of great loss to the church and the community to hear of Walter’s passing! Walter was not only a friend to us but he shined as an example of Philippians 2:4. Sorry to hear of Walter's passing. I regarded Walter as one of my best friends over many years. We played tennis together at the Westside tennis courts, where I was always challenged to win against him. He enjoyed sports. We also curled at the Abercrombie Curling Club often against each other. He was a good curler. I remember one time after we left playing tennis on a very hot evening we took a drive to Lyon's Brook. During that drive my air conditioner malfunctioned and began blowing very hot air on the floor. Walter complained that it was so hot that he thought his tennis sneakers were melting. We drove back to New Glasgow with his feet hanging our the window on the passenger's side window. He was a good friend and I miss you.

So sorry to hear of Walter's passing as we we're teenagers together growing up playing hockey in Amherst. I really enjoyed his wonderful pictures which reconnected us through CTV news where a picture Walter took was shown. I was very sad when his stroke took it's toll on his body as I watched my dad go through that. Walter fought through his disability. My sincere condolences to family and friends. Your a champion my friend.

Walter with his great nephews, Liam and Brayden during a visit to brother Robert's house in Ontario. I think it was 2010. I will always remember my Uncle Walter as a very kind soul who loved nature and took the most beautiful pictures. Rest in Peace Uncle Walter. You will be missed by many. Also condolences to those closest to him.
