Obituary of Frederick Francis Kontuk
Frederick Francis “Fred” Kontuk, 82, Trenton passed away peacefully April 22, 2023, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born in Stellarton, he was the son of the late Archie and Mary (Kowalski) Kontuk. In earlier years Fred was employed by Clark Tire. He delivered oil and was also a brick layer by trade. Fred’s last place of employment was East Pictou Rural High School in the maintenance department. Fred loved being outdoors gardening. He will be best remembered for his love of animals. He was never without a pet of some type. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he passes the “torch” to his children, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to carry on the family traditions.
Surviving is his daughter, Armanda “Mandi” Kontuk-Lloy (Bob Myers), Springville; sons, Hugh Kontuk (Angela Mitchell), Amherst; Bradley Kontuk, Trenton; Freddie Kontuk (Violet Mitchell), East Tracadie; grandchildren; Kaelynne, Connor, Ben, Freddy, Lyle, and Grayson; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Fred was predeceased by sisters, Jean Leslie, and Mary MacDonald; brothers, John, Archie, Charlie, and Bobby Kontuk.
In honour of Fred’s wishes a private graveside service will be held in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Stellarton.
