Obituary of Pearl Robertson

The world has lost a beloved mother, Pearl Robertson, who  passed away February 16, 2023. Born in Piedmont September 1, 1928, she was the daughter of D.W. and Jean (Baxter) Munro. 

She was a resident of Valley View Villa for the past three years having previously lived in New Glasgow and Kenzieville.  In 1947 she completed her course at the Maritime Business College and went to work at Household Finance. For over 30 years she and her husband owned and operated C.A. Robertson Lumber Ltd.  During this time she successfully completed a course at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in Land Use Planning and a course at the Maritime Lumber Bureau to become a Certified Lumber Grader.

She was a faithful member of the Barney's River Presbyterian Church. She served as a Sunday teacher and Mission Band leader, member of the  Ladies Aid, Life Member of the AMS as well as long-time member of the Memorial Fund Committee. She was active in community work. She belonged to the New Horizons Group and served as a trustee of the Kenzieville Cemetery.

She enjoyed watching curling having first learned the game as a member of the Westville Curling Club in the 1960's.  Her other interests included quilting, genealogy, reading, travel, dancing, and playing cards.  Her kindness touched many. She was a good neighbour, always there with a helping hand.

She is survived by her daughters Carol and Heather, New Glasgow; several nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by her husband, Charlie and her sister, Isabel.

Carol and Heather are grateful for the care that many staff members at Valley View Villa gave their mother.

It was Pearl's wishes that there would be no visitation.  She also wanted a graveside service that will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 21 in the Kenzieville Cemetery.    

Donations may be made in Pearl's memory to the Kenzieville Cemetery or Barney's River Presbyterian Church.
