Obituary of Deborah Anne Laffin

TRENTON – Deborah Anne “Debbie” Laffin, 64, Trenton, passed away peacefully, Monday, September 12, 2022, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late George Seldon and Mildred Theresa (Cameron) Laffin. Prior to retirement due to ill health, Debbie was employed as a CCA with Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow for many years. She was a fun-loving person who was always up for a road trip, especially to her favourite place, the Cabot Trail in Cape Breton.  Debbie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 35, Westville where she held the position of past secretary. She enjoyed playing darts and attending many dart tournaments with her cherished legion friends, who have been an amazing support to her throughout her illness.  Debbie volunteered with the Special Olympics and was a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays Fan.  She was a devoted and loving mother to her children and grandchildren, especially to her son, Justin, who lived at home and brought her much joy. Debbie will be forever remembered as a strong, courageous, and loyal lady, whose love knew no boundaries.

Surviving are her daughter, Amanda Laffin and her children, Katrina and Chandler; son, Justin; step-sons, David and Jason; brother, Bruce (Alyson); twin-brother, David (Lisa); nieces, Jennifer and Jillian; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert “Bobby”.

The family will receive visitors 10 – 10:50 a.m. Friday, September 16 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.  Private interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton.
