Obituary of Karl Martin Butler
THORBURN - Karl Martin Butler, 81, Thorburn, passed away Monday, March 28, 2022, at home.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Martin Luther and Willena (Brown) Butler. Prior to retirement, Karl was a school bus driver for over 25 years. In earlier years, Karl, and Josie, traveled to work in Ontario and British Columbia before returning to settle in Thorburn. Karl enjoyed driving regardless of the length of the journey. He had a passion for his “big boy toys”. Four wheeling, camping, boating, hunting, and fishing were many of the ways he enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with family. Karl was an avid antique car fan and had been a member of the Pictou County Antique Car Club. He was very proud of his grandsons and great-grandsons. Karl was most grateful to have been married to the love of his life for over 62 years.
Surviving are his wife, Josie; daughter, Denise (Gordon) Vance, Lubbock, Texas; sons, Darren Butler, New Glasgow; Dallas (Arlene) Butler, Anderson’s Mountain; grandsons, Craig (Talia), Devon, Logan, Dawson, Kaine, Brett, Hayden, Landon and Reese; great-grandsons, Austin and Tate.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5th in Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn with Mr. John Reeves officiating. Interment will be in Thorburn Cemetery.
