Obituary of Orman Nelson Jordan
THE PONDS – Orman Nelson Jordan, 78, The Ponds, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 surrounded by his family in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Lakedale, Guysborough Co., he was a son of the late Ernest Lavender and Evelyn Annie (Nelson) Jordan. Prior to retirement, he had been a crane operator with Cape Breton Crane Rentals. He was a member of the United Church of Canada and a past member of Local 721 International Union of Operating Engineers. Nonnie enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a very quiet man, a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving are his wife, Ora; daughters, Leanne Goodwin (Anthony Daemen), Meadow Green; Wanda (Gordon) DeCoste, Havre Boucher; sons, Paul and Daniel, at home; sisters, Mary Duggan, New Glasgow; Evelyn(Arthur) Murdock, The Ponds; Viola (Kenny) Richards, Toronto; grandchildren, Candace and Tyler Goodwin; Taryn, Graham and Kelsey DeCoste; great-grandson, Logan King; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers, George, Walter and Henry; half-sister, Connie Campbell; half-brothers, John and Bill McCaul.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. saturday, August 15th in Murray’s Point Cemetery.
