THORBURN – Emily Alice Doleen Rector, 81, Thorburn, formerly of Pine Tree, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow with her daughter by her side. Born in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late Daniel John and Agnes Carolyn (Dykens) Silver. Emily was a devoted homemaker and had been a Weight Watchers representative for over 20 years. She was a member of Sutherland’s River Presbyterian Church and attended Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn. Emily was a graceful dancer and greatly enjoyed the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 28, Stellarton dances. She was friendly and outgoing. Emily was always present for her family; her love knew no boundaries. Surviving are her daughter, Doreen Rector (Kenny Stewart), Greenwood; grandchildren, Ryan and Carla; brother, Robert (Jeanie) Silver, Linacy; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Hibbert Junior “Hibbie” Rector; son, Ruebin Rector; sisters, Clara Silver, Margaret Silver and Vivian Rector; brothers, Ralph, Sid and Fred Silver.
