Helen; Was very sad to hear the passing of Vern. He has been missed for a long time on the radio and especially on the Maritime Net. His sense of humour was always welcomed and also his words of wisdom. Last night while controlling the Maritime Net, many amateurs expressed their sadness of his passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time from Ann and myself and many others from the net. We will always remember him in our thoughts as a great friend. Peter J Surette - VE1PJS Maritime Net Controller and friend

Well, Vern has left us for a greater place. No more sorrow, no more pain. no more suffering. May he rest in the Peace that only God can give. Maybe now Vern and "Hank" will get together at last. To the family I send my sincere sympathy and pray that God will Bless you and care for you all during this difficult time. Most hams Called Vern VE1 Yankee Papa but he called himself VE1 Yodeling Pope. Now he can yodel all he wants to.

Sorry to hear of Verne's Death. Sympathies and condolences to all of his family and friends from myself and all his radio friends on the Professional Loafers Net to which Verne was a faithful check in. He always had a famous quote or saying to give us and, of course, his little yodel. He will (and is) missed by all of us. Keith. VE1KRE.
