Obituary of Albert Martell Clyburne
NEW GLASGOW – Albert Martell Clyburne, 81, Valley View Villa, Riverton, formerly of Merigomish Road, New Glasgow passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 in the Villa, surrounded by his family.
Born in Isaac’s Harbour, he was the chosen son of the late Herman and Margaret (Hefferman) Clyburne. During the Second World War he served with the West Novies in England, Holland, Belgium and France. Prior to retirement he was employed with Hawker Siddeley, Trenton as a Crane Chaser.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, E. Jean (DeYoung), New Glasgow; children, Patsy Cook (Harvey Treby), Stewart (Mary Katherine) Clyburne, Linacy; Elaine (John) Russell, New Glasgow; Brian (Lorraine) Clyburne, Lower Sackville; Verna (Charlie) Paton, Linacy; grandchildren, Donnie, Phillip, Kevin, Margie, Allie, Lisa, Michael, Angie, Bud and Brody; nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors 7-9 p.m. today in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel with Rev. Gail Johnson-Murdock officiating.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to the Valley View Villa Palliative Care Room.
