My deepest condolences to the family and the many friends of Beulah Mae MacKinnon. Your loss is a huge one and surely weighs heavily on you all. Auntie Beulah will always live in my memory as one of those exceedingly rare people who carry within them a reserve of love and joy and happiness no matter what life serves up. One mental snapshot from childhood has her in the kitchen of the farmhouse, cradling a huge bowl in an arm, vigorously stirring a batter while carrying on an animated conversation with Grannie as kids happily raced around. I still see the smile on her face and light in her eyes. When I last shared time with her - when Arthur and I visited a few summers ago - that love, joy and happiness were still glowing brightly despite the challenges of failing health. She spoke of her accomplished children and grandchildren - with love and justified pride - and of her day-to-day activities. Jokes and witty asides peppered her conversation. She was a woman who thrived on life and found the best in it. Brava! May you find comfort in your faith as you grieve and strength in the belief that the essence of Beulah Mae has been warmly received by kindred spirits - including my Mom and her sisters - who have already made that journey and rejoice to receive her.
