Obituary of Theodore Garfield Carrigan
NEW GLASGOW – Theodore Garfield “Gar” Carrigan, 70, New Glasgow, formerly of MacPherson’s Mills, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, with his wife, daughter and sister by his side.
Born in Garden of Eden, he was the son of the late Angus and Daisy (Fraser) Carrigan. He was a former driver with the New Glasgow Fire Department and Demont’s Trucking, and was employed with the Mattress Shop until April 2007. He was an adherent of Second United Baptist Church and an Associate Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 34, New Glasgow. He was a member of the Ward One Dart Team and the North End Dart Team. He enjoyed fishing and working in his garden. He was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn (Jordan) Brannan; daughters, Kimberly, Cindy; step-daughter, Shannon; sons, Scott, Kevin and Jake; step-son, Shane; sisters, Faye, Helen, Vera and Anna Marie; brothers, Dan, Bill, Bobby; aunt, Maizie; seven grandchildren; special papa to Tyson and Synthia; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother, Sandy and a brother in infancy.
Visitation will be 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday in Second United Baptist Church, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Morley Shaw officiating assisted by, Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, New Glasgow.
