Obituary of Julie Elizabeth Sartoris
WOODBURN / LITTLETON, MASS. – Julie Elizabeth Sartoris, 72, Littleton, Mass., formerly of Woodburn and Thorburn, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Littleton, surrounded by her family.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Julia (Ermence) James. She was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, Thorburn. Julie and her late husband, Lawson, moved to Massachusetts in 1964, where they lived and raised their family. They moved back to Pictou County in 2000, where she enjoyed spending time at their beautiful retirement home by the ocean in Woodburn. Julie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt.
Surviving are daughters, Brenda Sartoris, Billerica, Mass.; Marsha (Kevin) McDonald, Littleton; son, Larry, Truro; grandchildren, Michelle, Jillian, Larry, Jonathan, Danielle, Nick, Lauren, Corrine, Ryan, Adam, Christopher, Elaine and Sonia; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alexis, Cadance and Sadie; sisters, Dorothy (Joey) Morrison, Minnie (Bob) Sartoris, Annie (Billy) Swallow, Thorburn; Mary (Vince) Harned, St. John, N.B.; Rose MacEachern, Stellarton; Bertha (Jim) Simpson, Calgary, Alta.; brothers, Johnnie (Colleen), Stellarton; Alex (Laura), Burlington, Mass.; Andrew (Marie), Thorburn; Larry (Millie), Stellarton; Herbie (Sherry), Thorburn; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Lawson Percy; son, Blair; sister, Helen Stewart.
The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday, June 21st in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22nd in Union Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jeff Lackie officiating. Interment will be in MacLellan’s Mountain Cemetery.
