Obituary of Kelvin Joseph MacDonald
ISLAND EAST RIVER – Kelivn Joseph MacDonald, 62, Island East River, passed away, Monday, April 14, 2008 as the result of an ATV accident.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Mary Christine “Mamie” (MacDonald) MacDougall. Prior to retirement in 1998, he had been a long haul truck driver and furniture mover. He was a member of Springville Presbyterian Church, Springville. Kelvin was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie (Coady) (Jamieson) MacDonald; daughter, Nancy Harrison; son, Hugh MacDonald, Prince George, B.C.; step-daughters, Betty Davidson (Larry Pearl), Bridgeville; Kathy Jamieson (Paul Walker), Fort St. John, B.C.; Colleen (Charles) MacDonald, Fort Nelson, B.C.; Helen Jamieson (Darryl MacLellan), Fort St. John; step-son, Jerry (Mary) Jamieson Jr., Stellarton; grandsons, Curtis, Justin and Darren; step-grandchildren, Raymond (Amanda), Heather (Darryl), Alexis, Gerald, Jennifer, Kimberley and Josh; step-great-grandchildren, Jamal, Maynard, Dax, Kayne, Gracyne, Macey and Drayton.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mamie; step-father, Dan Angus MacDougall; foster-sister, Marie.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday and 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow from where funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel with Rev. Don Shephard officiating. Interment will be in Priestville Cemetery.
Family flowers only. Donations may be made in his memory to The Lung Association of Nova Scotia, The Arthritis Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
