NEW GLASGOW – Patsy Marie Westerman, 54, New Glasgow, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 11, 2009 surrounded by her family. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Pearl Cecilia (Pace) Brow. Prior to retirement due to ill health, she had been employed as an office supervisor with the Tara Motel, New Glasgow. Patsy enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, making Christmas crafts, knitting and wrestling. Watching the TV Soap Opera, “Days of Our Lives” was a must. In earlier years, Patsy took a memorable trip to Nashville with her friends. She enjoyed attending various musical productions in which her daughter Haley took part. Patsy was a loving wife, mother, sister, niece, aunt and friend. Surviving are her husband, Peter Douglas Westerman; daughter, Haley Westerman, at home; sister, Janet (Allen) DeCoste, Merigomish; chosen sister, Kathy MacKenzie, Telford; brother, Wayne (Gerry) Brow, Coombs, B.C.; aunt, Budia (Bob) Eastman, Dudas, Ont.; uncle, Robert “Bobby” Pace, Toronto, Ont.; family friend, David Adams, New Glasgow; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by aunt, Winnifred Gratto; uncles, Ronnie Pace and Danny Brow. The family will receive visitors 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, October 14th in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home, New Glasgow where funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, October 15th in the Chapel with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating. Interment will be in Abercrombie Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made in her memory to the IWK Health Centre Foundation.
