I was saddened to learn of Don’s passing. I had the pleasure of working with Donald for years at both the Gander, NL and Halifax weather offices. He was a talented meteorologist, but also gifted in electronics, music and financial matters, among other things. Many years ago, Don had an afternoon concert somewhere in northern Nova Scotia and didn't get back to the city in time to take his cello home. He brought it into the office and I asked if he could play something when our duties settled off a little. So, about 2:00 am in the morning, I had the wonderful experience of listening to Don play. Many other good memories as well. My condolences to Don’s family.
