Obituary of Mary Horton
NEW GLASGOW – Mary Horton, 78, New Glasgow formerly of England and Scotland, passed away peacefully, Friday, December 3, 2010 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, surrounded by her family.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Helen Collins. Prior to immigration to Canada over 20 years ago, she had been employed with Barclays Bank, London and had previously been employed in Selfridges Department Store, Oxford Street, London. Mary will be remembered for her knitting and crochet work, for her compassion for all animals, great and small and most of all, for the unwavering love of her family.
Surviving are her husband, Albert Frederick Horton; daughters, Wendy (Clay) Schkade, San Angelo, Texas; Jane Rink, New Glasgow; son, Harry (Vikki) Horton, England; sister, Marie (Wilmer) MacLeod, Sutherlandshire, Scotland; brother, Eddie Horton, England; grandchildren, Laura, Helen, Rachael, Christopher, Spencer, Amy, Michael, Deanna and Megan; great-grandchildren, Crimson and Tyler; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by sister, Euphemia.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 in P. & K. MacDonald Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
