BLUE MOUNTAIN – Gloria Elizabeth Allen, 89, Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Blue Mountain, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in the Manor with her family by her side. Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Gordon and Christena May (Clyburn) Peckham. Gloria was a devoted homemaker and was a foster parent for many years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Blue Mountain. Gloria enjoyed the outdoors, especially picking blue berries. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo, bowling and most importantly, spending time with her best friend, Alice. Gloria was a quiet lady who leaves her family a legacy of love. Surviving are her daughter, Sherry (Ian) Rogers, MacLellan’s Mountain; sons, Stephen (Cheryl) Allen, MacLellan’s Brook; Ken (Sadie) Allen, Blue Mountain; Richard Allen (Ralph Hatfield), New Glasgow; Michael (Danica) Allen, Durham; grandchildren, Paul, Dennis, Corey, Nicole, Darla, Nicholas, Tanya, Lindsey, Christopher, Wyatt, Brittney and Amber; great-grandchildren, Shayla, Kiara, Brenna, Ethan, Jayden, Ryan, Lucas, Jeffrey, Hannah, Delaney, Charlie, Kaden, Jaxon and Liam; half-sisters, Catherine Lennox, Toronto, Ont.; Shirley Vachel, Trenton; half-brother, Donald Stuart, New Glasgow; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frederick Joseph “Fred” Allen; sisters, Helen MacNeil and Gladys Ryan; half-sister, Vera Butts; brothers, Edward, Reginald, John and Robert Peckham; half-brothers, James, George and Ernest Stuart. A private funeral service will take place. Interment will be in Blue Mountain Cemetery.
