We have fond memories of visiting Arie and Barbara in Nova Scotia, and regret that the distance from Australia prevented more contact over the years. On behalf of his younger sister Nel, who also recently passed away in Western Australia, and her family, Arie's nephews (Tony, Alfred, and Ben) and niece (Judi), we say good bye, and rest in peace. We knew him as a gentle man like his father was, a man who loved the outdoors, with a lovely sense of humour. May God in whom he trusted, welcome him into the heavenly choir.

Arie was very kind to me when I first arrived in Canada in 1977, and enjoyed showing me his pigs. My memory of him will forever be tied to the old farmhouse in Springville and Nov 5th bonfire nights. A long life, well lived and now he rests at peace with his wife for eternity. My thoughts are with Frank, Debbie and Joan at this time.
